Should You Stay or Go?
Divorce is a scary prospect. If you or your spouse are considering divorce, you probably worry about what will happen to your children, your finances, and whether you’ll end up alone. And yet, one or both of you lacks the motivation or interest for marriage counseling
Discernment counseling (DC) can help you decide whether to stay or go.
DC is designed for couples in which one partner is leaning toward divorce, while the other wants to work on the marriage. These “mixed agenda” couples typically are not good candidates for marriage counseling.
In just 1-5 sessions, DC can help you choose one of three paths with clarity and confidence:
- Do nothing at present and revisit the question at a later time.
- Decide to move forward with separation and divorce.
- Commit to intensive couple therapy, during which time divorce is off the table.
